Overview: The Data Scientist role involves analyzing large sets of data from wearable Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) devices to improve device performance and patient outcomes. This remote, part-time position requires expertise in statistical analysis and machine learning to draw insights from complex health data collected by wearable technologies.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement algorithms to process and analyze data from wearable devices.
- Use machine learning techniques to predict trends and outcomes based on the data collected.
- Collaborate with biomedical engineers and software developers to enhance the functionality and accuracy of wearable devices.
- Design and execute data validation and quality assurance processes to ensure the integrity of the data.
- Prepare reports and visualizations to communicate findings to the broader team and stakeholders.
- Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data science and wearable technology to keep the company at the cutting edge.
Required Skills:
- Strong proficiency in statistical analysis and machine learning tools such as R, Python, TensorFlow, or similar platforms.
- Expertise in handling large and complex datasets with tools like SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
- Ability to apply advanced analytical techniques to biomedical data and interpret complex patterns.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex data-driven tasks.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and share insights.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or higher in Data Science, Biostatistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a data science role, preferably dealing with healthcare or wearable technology data.
- Proven track record of applying data science methods effectively within a product development environment.
- Experience with regulatory standards governing medical data is advantageous.
